Therapist1.co.uk was born from a simple observation: finding a therapist in the UK is harder than it should be. There are dozens of directories, each with complex filters, paid listings, and flashy profiles that tell you very little about whether this person will actually get you.
We take a different approach. We've built a simple, wiki-style directory where you can browse therapists the way you'd actually think about choosing one: by price, by location, by what they help with, and by how they work. No complex search. No sponsored results. Just clear tables and honest information.
Therapy in the UK is in high demand, but the system is fragmented. NHS waiting lists are long. Private therapy costs vary wildly. And most directories make you jump through hoops — filtering by postcode radius, ticking boxes for "issues" you might not even have the words for yet.
We wanted to create something calmer. Something that feels like browsing a library rather than shopping on Amazon. You can scan a page of therapists under £60, or therapists who specialise in trauma, or therapists who can see you in person in Manchester — and just read. No pressure. No urgency. Just information, clearly laid out.
Every therapist in our directory is:
We don't accept payment from therapists to be listed. This directory is independent and free. We may earn a small commission if a therapist is booked through a partner link, but this never affects listing order or prominence.
If you have questions, suggestions, or want to list your practice, drop us a line. We're building this as we go, and we'd love to hear from you.
