Therapist1.co.uk is a free, independent directory of qualified therapists and counsellors practising across the United Kingdom. We list accredited professionals — psychotherapists, counselling psychologists, clinical psychologists, and counsellors — who work in evidence-based modalities.

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. There are hundreds of directories, each with different filters and complex search tools. We take a different approach: simple, readable, wiki-style pages that group therapists in ways that make sense — by what they specialise in, where they practise, what they charge, and how they work.

Whether you're looking for EMDR therapy in London, a couples counsellor under £60 in Manchester, or a trauma specialist available online anywhere in the UK — we've organised it all into straightforward tables so you can compare and choose.

1. How to browse

Our philosophy: we don't believe in complex filters and faceted search. Instead, we've created simple, human-readable pages that group therapists the way you'd actually think about choosing one — by price, by location, by what they help with, and by how they work.

Use the tabs at the top of every page to navigate the directory. Each tab leads to a set of wiki-style pages with simple tables listing therapists who match that category. From there, you can drill down further — for example, from "By Location" you can go to "Therapists in London" or "Therapists in Manchester."

Every therapist listed is a qualified, accredited professional registered with at least one UK governing body — BACP, UKCP, NCS, HCPC, or BPS. We include key details: their modality, session price, whether they offer online sessions, and a short personal note so you get a sense of who they are.
